Why Companies Implement Compliance Programs

Companies implement a compliance program for various reasons, including:

Compliance Standards

Requires companies to define key customer-oriented processes (such as sales, purchasing, and manufacturing), set measurable goals, and implement procedures to protect customers from non-conforming products or services.

ISO 9001

Builds on ISO 9001 and adds medical manufacturing requirements such as risk assessment, traceability, and cleanliness standards.

ISO 13485

Focuses on environmental impact, requiring companies to identify practices that help or harm the environment, assess risks, and take action to mitigate them.

ISO 14001

For each of these standards, I have experience assessing the current position of a company, determining an action plan for certification, and implementing the plan with the company to ensure compliance, satisfaction, and future success.

Achievements

  • Worked with over 100 companies to achieve registration to standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, AS9100, AISC Construction and Erection certifications, as well as customer-specific standards and requirements.

  • Helped companies identify measurable goals; establish documented systems for measuring and monitoring the processes and achieving the goals.

  • Trained companies to manage internal changes within their processes, ensuring established systems could be easily maintained without external support.

  • Updating current systems to meet the updated standards:

    • AS9100 D

    • ISO 13485:2016

Work Experience

I started my career at steel manufacturing in the late 1980's. Having a degree in Statistics was a good thing since that was the era of the control chart. In 1993, I began consulting work and continue to work with companies who need my help to achieve their goals.
